Description
Aftermarket VW .622 ratio 5th gear and washer. A solid upgrade over the typical .756 TDI 5th gear. Typical drop over a stock TDI is approximately 600 rpm. This is usually the best available option for those driving an average 75 MPH while commuting.
It is recommended that the gear oil and transmission seal be changed when a 5th gear is replaced.

Note on Installation: Be sure to heat the gear to 100ºC when both removing as well as re-installing the gear or you risk damaging it. It is a good idea to use blue Loctite® on the small gear pinion shaft.
Note for BEW Engine Code: Vehicles with a BEW engine code will lose Cruise Control functionality unless this modification is also paired with a tune that accounts for it.
